I can imagine that the edges of these tiny flowers were painted. I love that the pink and green petals are edged in purple.

Many thanks to +Marilyn Benham for identifying this beauty for me. The common name is queen's tears, much easier to remember than the formal name billbergia nutans. It is a form of a bromeliad.
