I just wanted to let you know that Denise hasn't forgotten about publishing her photos of Newfoundland - it's just taking her a while to pull the galleries together. I was looking over her shoulder just now, and she's getting really close. Soon...
Oh! And while she's been wandering through photos and memories, I'm helping her make some decisions on more travels for later this year. We need to head to Acadia for a long weekend, probably late in October, and I'm pretty sure we'll be wandering somewhere out west in early December. Denise needs a little bit of a push to make plans; I think they will come together pretty quickly though.

It's gray here today as light rain continues to fall.
It was gray the morning I wandered to Salvage at the end of the Eastport Peninsula - gray yet full of colors.
My favorite of the Fogo Island studios was the Squish Studio. I liked the shape, but yes, I'll admit that I love the name!
I managed to wander by the four studios scattered about Fogo Island by the Fogo Island Arts Corporation. Walking to and around the buildings was possible. There were no artists in residence when I was there, giving me the freedom to peer through the windows.
And... somehow an interesting reflection jumped into my photo through the window of Bridge Studio.
Have you seen photos of St. John's? There are houses painted in bright colors, and there are murals too. And look at the hills!--- Rover
This spot is in Terra Nova National Park, water that I passed several times since it was between the area of the park where I was wandering and my B&B. I drove the road along the water and then immediately turned around and headed back to the beginning, parking the car this time and walking.
It's the time of year when the daylight seems to disappear much earlier than expected. Coming home from a vacation further north (and in a different spot in the time zone) makes the early dark startle me even more.
At the end of this evening's walk it was still light enough out to be seen without wearing my blinking lights, but it appears I need to start wearing them soon. It was just after 7 PM, and the sunset today was at 7:21. Yikes!
For light comparison,here are two photos taken in close to the same spot at Cape Bonavista, Newfoundland. The photo on the left was taken at 7:41 PM Newfoundland Daylight Time, and the photo on the right was taken at 8:05 PM. Both images show very different light in comparison with tonight's full dark at (about) 7:45 PM!
We're home, and Denise has started wandering through her photos from Newfoundland. I've convinced her to try something different this time, to start sharing a few photos before she has finished going through all of them. She created a gallery, A smattering of Newfoundland images, where she will stash a small number of photos as they jump out at her to be shared now. There are only a few there right now - please check back every so often to see new additions.
Either Denise or I will post when the full galleries are available. I think it will be a while...

Just after walking out of the old (restored) lighthouse my feet followed the line of the bluff at Cape Spear. My eyes pulled me to the new lighthouse, to a white picket fence.
I thought I saw a quick movement on the fence. I looked again, finding a little red squirrel perched on the fence post. He very nicely waited for me to switch lenses, then posed for some photos.
