Return to Parker River
I needed a walk on the beach, a walk with the ocean waves creating their song, a walk with the birds skittering along the wet sand. I headed to Parker River National Wildlife Refuge for my first visit since the beach closed to humans on April 1st, becoming a long, peaceful piping plover nesting ground.
I found wetland grasses wearing yellowing shades of green, bright umbrellas, quiet waves, sanderlings skittering, even an egret who allowed photos to be taken.
