The edge of darkness

Tomorrow brings the autumnal equinox, a day of equal halves of light and dark. It feels like the dark half of the day has been expanding quickly. I know it hasn't, but it always feels like the disappearing daylight hits hard at this time of year.

It's dark when I wake up in the morning. As I head out for my late afternoon (or early evening) walk, there is usually still light in the sky. I've taken to wearing my bright blinking lights already since it's often dark by the time I return home. I know, I know, the daylight will get progressively shorter. And I'll get used to darklight walks again. Autumn...
