towers await

It was a good day for a bridge visit.

The towers are both standing tall. An update on the Memorial Bridge web site says that the steel construction of the towers is complete and that the iron workers are completing the vertical alignment of the two structures. I walked past the bridge site to a spot where it was possible to peer into the NH State Pier to see the center section of the bridge under construction on a barge. I believe the construction schedule calls for the lift section to be installed in June.

I'm looking forward to walking and riding on the new bridge when it opens sometime this summer.
