windy & cold
Brr! It was windy & cold today, not an ideal day for a walk on the beach. But yes, I did walk at the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.
It's nearing the end of March so the days for walking on the beach in the refuge are nearing an end for the season. The beach in the refuge closes on April 1st each year for the piping plover nesting season. While I am happy to cede the beach to these endangered birds it felt good to get in a last walk before the closure.

glory of the snow
This tiny flower wears the name glory of the snow.
While I have seen these flowers in previous years popping out of snow, this year they are surrounded by dried leaves. It brings a welcome pop of color.

photos! Smith College bulb show
Monday's trek across the state to visit the spring bulb show at Smith College was delightful. Part of the drive was on a new-to-me 2-lane road that was beautiful, and the colors that surrounded me at the bulb show were wonderful.
